It Must Be Nice

“It must be nice.”

That’s what they say when they see the bikes in the garage. The gate drops. The freshly washed race rig. The kids flying over jumps like they were born with throttle in their veins.

“Must be nice to get away so much.”

“Must be nice to have the time for that.”

“Must be nice to afford it.”

But those words usually come from people who have no idea what it takes to do this life.

They don’t see what it costs—not just the money, but the hours. The time we give up for ourselves. For our hobbies. Our passions. Our sleep.

We skip the things we want to do so our kids can do the thing they love. We trade brunches and lazy Sundays for calloused hands and dirt-stained trailers. We sacrifice vacations, sick days, and often company matched 401(k)s—because that’s what it takes when no one else is covering your shift but you.

They don’t see us hustling jobs on the side, stacking paychecks from running loaders and bobcats, digging literal trenches just so our kids can go race in someone else’s dirt on the weekend.

This life isn’t built on luck—though yeah, sometimes it helps. It’s built on late nights, long drives, busted knuckles, maxed-out schedules, and full-blown grit.

Most of us weren’t born with silver spoons. We’re out here earning every second of the time we spend doing what we love—with and for the people we love.

So yeah…It is nice. But not because it was handed to us. Not because it was easy. It’s nice because we fought for it.

You don’t know how nice it is until you’re willing to do the not so nice shit to earn it.

See you Sunday,

MotoMom Court

People Do Crazy Stuff and I Take Pictures of Them.

I'm MotoMom. To my MotoMan I'm Courtney.  To the kids it's MOMMMMMMM.  I'm just like the rest of you. But I take pictures and write stories about our lives.
